Introduction and Experience

My name is Colby Allen and serve as VP of Consulting and Valuations with Agency Brokerage Consultants. To date I’m a published industry expert and thought leader on Insurance Agency Valuation and M&A Advisory.

Since starting my career in the industry have collected 13 years of experience in finance, operations, analytics, and project management. During that time I’ve worked with regional agencies, national agencies, and a regional carrier. Notable projects include refinement of agency finance and operational reporting processes, acquisition buy-side diligence and integration, revenue reconciliations for producer lift-out projects, and book of business rolls for acquired agencies. I’ve also worked extensively on projects for data analytics to build platforms to provide insights into producer performance which was used to enhance new business sales, revenue retention, and monitoring of new producers in the validation process.

I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated in 2013 earning a B.S. in Insurance & Risk Management with a Minor in Finance, an then again in 2021 earning M.B.A. in Finance Operations, as well as industry certifications including the CMA, AIDA, ARM, and CXAP.

Current Role

Agency Brokerage Consultants is an industry leading M&A Advisory firm specializing in independent insurance agency valuation, consulting, and M&A Advisory services.  My role includes valuation services, project or advisory retainer consulting engagements with independent agencies, and business development activities such as speaking for industry events, hosting educational webinars, and publishing thought leader content valuable for independent agency owners.
