Highlights from the 2011 Member Conference
The recently completed AAIMCo Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana was very successful. We had 17 registrants and 10 spouses in attendance. The conference ran for three days, with presentations on various issues of interest to the insurance industry.
We were fortunate to have as a guest speaker Ed O’Brien, the Deputy Commissioner of Property & Casualty Insurance for the Louisiana Department of Insurance. At the time of our conference the Mississippi River was rising to flood stages in Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi, and was threatening Louisiana. We were fortunate to hear first-hand the measures Louisiana was taking to avoid flooding in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
We held mornings meeting sessions, leaving the afternoons and evenings free for siteseeing and social events. AAIMCo member, Russ Taylor and his bride Gloria served as conference chairs, and planned a lot of fun social events.
The friendships and camaraderie that develops from these meetings in invaluable; and everyone comes away feeling they have learned something they can use in their own practice.
